Summit Innovation is the brainchild of Nick Dawson. Nick has been the head of innovation —responsible for experience, design, and technology —for some big organizations.

He’s also a ski instructor. Nick spends a good chunk of his winters on snow with guests from around the world at Big Sky resort in Montana. As an instructor he’s part of the most prominent front line of the Big Sky brand.

He understands how important experiences are to guests and employees, and how when we focus on experience, it flows to the bottom line.

Nick was chief of innovation at Johns Hopkins & Kaiser Permanente, he chaired innovation for the Medicine X program at Stanford. And he served as an advisor to the Obama White House on human-centered design and innovation.

Partners & Collaborators

We don’t work alone. We have a robust cohort of designers, technologists, and operations experts who join each project depending on the unique needs of that project.

Good outcomes come from a human-centered approach.

The best, most impactful results come when we understand, value, and design for everyone involved —from employees and guests to partners and vendors.

Our Values

Going together takes us farther.

When leaders going along with us on an innovation journey, the work is not only richer, but longer lasting. We like to leave resorts with new capabilities and ways of working.

It has to be fun (even when it is scary)!

Nothing beats the thrill of tackling a new challenge. Wether it is on the snow, a bike path, or in the board room, doing something new and bold takes courage and, when successful, demands a good celebration.
